Brands Europe is a brand consultancy. We use market research to
explore kids* brands and develop brand strategies, segmentation,
new products and licensing opportunities.
Over the years we have developed
working relationships with fellow researchers across Europe who
we can call upon to run international projects. This means that
it is as easy for us to run a project across Europe as it is in
the UK.

How we work
We (Edward and Judy Bartkowiak)
have four children from 6 to 18 years old and we want to experience
them growing up as well as fulfilling our career aspirations. We
believe that through the use of modern technology and good communication,
we have found a way of doing this. What also helps is that we are
passionate about children's characters!
We are 100% committed to client
needs and offer a personal service with an immediate response to
client briefs. Plus, we have first hand experience of most kids
licensed properties!!
Kids Brands Panel
We now have a panel of about 500 families
from all over the UK who work with us
on market research surveys. It gives us the opportunity to conduct
larger scale quantitative surveys and also recruit groups needing
quite specific samples eg boys age 6 who watch Tiny Planets!
We can send out:
videos of TV programmes in development
a video of 5 commercials with the client's commercial camouflaged
so we check for communication and impact
sketches
of merchandise concepts
books
and comics
CDs,
computer/PS2 games
ask
them to take part in a task eg buy a comic and ask them to complete
a questionnaire about the buying and selection process.
Kids
Brands Panel now up and running in Hamburg! Others being developed
in Spain, France, Italy and Holland
Fame but not fortune!
I have been lucky enough to be asked
to speak at a number of conferences on the subject of kids research
: LIMA(2002 and 2003), Marketing Week, Kids Power and Kidscreen
(US).
My paper on market segmentation for
Lovehearts (Entertainment Rights) was chosen to be presented at
the Biannual AQR/QRCA conference in Lisbon May 2003.
